PSE

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), established in 1992, is the sole securities exchange in the Philippines and operates within the Southeast Asian capital market system. Its origins trace back to the Manila Stock Exchange, founded in 1927, making it one of the earliest stock exchanges in Asia. The PSE currently offers listing and trading services for a variety of financial instruments, including stocks and bonds, to local and regional companies. Additionally, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries and affiliates, the PSE engages in securities clearing and settlement, market regulation, and the development of the fixed-income market. The PSEi index is widely used to reflect the overall performance of the market.

In January 2023, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and PSE renewed their strategic partnership by signing a new memorandum of understanding, building on a longstanding relationship established in 2009. The updated agreement focuses on key areas such as joint index development, product innovation, market promotion, technical cooperation, and cross-border investment and financing initiatives. This strengthened collaboration aims to broaden practical ties between the Chinese and Philippine capital markets, enhance connectivity, and contribute to the development of the real economy under the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering a new chapter of open, mutually beneficial capital market cooperation between the two countries.
