On 31 July 2018, Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. Launched the Shenzhen Innovative Engine Index ("Innovative Engine" for short, code: 399050). The index is designed to reflect the overall performance of the Shenzhen enterprises listed on SZSE, highlight the innovative feature of Shenzhen's economic reform and provide the market with more diversified objects for research and investment. The base date and base point of Innovative Engine are 31 December 2012 and 1,000 points respectively.

Taking its samples among the Shenzhen enterprises listed on SZSE, the index jointly considers the innovativeness, fundamentals, industrial representativeness and investableness of listed companies and selects 50 stocks as the samples. Regular adjustment of the sample stocks will be conducted on the first trading day of every January and July.

From the end of December 2012 to the end of June 2018, the index has achieved an accumulative yield rate of 88% while that for CSI 300 during the same period is 39%. This expresses the favorable growth and investment value of the underlying stocks of Innovative Engine.

As an equity index manifesting the development of Shenzhen's listed companies, Innovative Engine will better play the role of "window" for the reform and opening-up of Shenzhen and articulate the economic development characteristics and advantages of Shenzhen, a "city of innovation". It will offer a new channel for investors to share the economic development bonus of Shenzhen.
